Mitchell will become eighteen years of age just as the 2008 season starts.Hel is the son of former rider Gary Davey, started at the age of six when he rode in support events at Mackay Showground when his dad was racing in the main events.

He currently lives in Townsville, Australia, the same town as new team mate Josh Grajczonek and finished second to Josh in the Queensland Under-21 Championship.

His first senior meeting just after his 16th birthday when he rode in the 2006 Queensland Open Under 21 Championship on the Gold Coast track one a bike previously owned by Jason Crump. He has also ridden for North Queensland against New South Wales, Ivan Mauger's Golden Helmet Series at Maryborough and finished runner-up in the 2007 Queensland Championship.

In 2007 he was involved in a crash with Josh when he spun around on a bend and was hit head on by Grajczonek and was out of action for ten weeks with a badly broken collar bone.

2008 will be a large learning curve for Mitchell but the Tigers management have high hopes for him.
