Following on from his first maximum on Sunday, Nick Morris achieved another personal milestone on Wednesday night when he was crowned Junio Champion at Belle Vue.

Nick dropped a point in his first outing to talented youngster Jason Garrity before cleaning up in his next four races. It came down to heat 20 as a then unbeaten Jake Anderson and Nick went head to head but Nick came out on top and with Anderson third, it meant he took the honours and the title.

No Fours Action for Tigers

The A-Plant Tigers have not been included in the Four Team Tournament at Peterborough on the 15th August.

The criteria set prior to the Pairs once again dictates that the top four averaged riders from each team are added up to give the top eight sides, but each rider has to have done a minimum of 8 fixtures for that team and Joe Screen, John Branney and Nick Morris have not done the required number of fixtures. This was mainly due to several postponements and interestingly come the event, all three riders will have been with the team for over 2 months, and will have all done 12 meetings should the weather be kind from now on!

Lee Gets Good News

Lee Dicken went to hospital after his heat 8 crash after Tobias Busch shed a chain which caused a nasty looking spill for both Lee and Kalle Katajisto.

Good news is that Lee went to the Royal Infirmary where he was effectively given the all-clear. There is no break to the collar bone and barring some potential muscle damage, the news is that there is nothing too concerning and he should be back on a bike in the not too distant future. Whether that will be on Saturday at Workington or not will probably not be known for a couple of days yet as we see how he reacts to the injury.

Also good news with regard to Kalle Katajisto who did not break any bones in his foot and he too should be back racing in the not too distant future. We wish both riders a speedy recovery.

The A-Plant Tigers were in fine form on Sunday in a meeting that had little at stake in terms of league positions, but try telling that to the Glasgow riders, who went out and produced one of their best performances of the season. And especially try telling that to Nick Morris, who at 16 years, 1 month and 18 days became "officiallY" the youngest rider in Glasgow's history to score a maximum. (Mitch Shirra was younger when he did likewise, but was pretending he was older at the time!)

The final score of 58-37 saw the following scorers:
Glasgow - Travis 13+1(5), Josh 13(5), Nick 12+3(5), Joe 8+1(4), Lee 6+1(3), John 5(4), Jamie 1(4)
Edinburgh - Ryan Fisher 11(4) inc 6 as tr, Matthew Wethers 11 (5) inc 6 as tr, Andrew Tully 6(5), Kalle Katajisto 3+2(4), Tobias Busch 3(3), Cal McDade 3(5), Robert Branford 0(4)

Although the fixture will have no impact on the final standings of this particular competition, especially with the first leg of the final being raced at Newcastle later that evening, the Tigers are desperate to maintain their recent good form, with no home defeats suffered since the change of team.

Can the Tigers keep up the good work? - read below to see who will be going all out to stop us!
